羊画廊　HITSUJI-GARO

コンセプト：
月面コロニーが地球からの独立を宣言。これがアートの拠点です。
映像、サウンド、AI、シルクスクリーン、彫刻を通して、月で発展する奇妙で風変わりな文化を記録します。
月面ラウンジミュージック、エイリアンのジャガー、ゼリー、交通情報、文化交流など、これらはアートに見られるものの実例です。
スペクタクルとは、人々が目撃し、自ら発展させていくための共通の価値観であるという考え方。
新たな可能性を探求することが、今回の作品で探求されていることです。
例えば、この映像作品はテレビのバラエティ番組のフォーマットをモデルにしていますが、そこにひねりが加えられています。
この作品の最大の目的は、近未来を見つめることで、
生活様式に疑問を投げかけ、再考し、新たな方法でスペクタクルに焦点を当てることです。

<略歴>

アメリカ・オハイオ州生まれ。1995年モントセラトカレッジ・オブ・アート卒業。
1998年ボストン美術館大学で修士取得。2011年以降パブリックアートプロジェクト。
ブルーカラーの両親のもとで培われた価値観や倫理観を版画、ビデオ、サウンドなどのアート作品に取り込んで制作発表。

The idea: The moon colony has declared itself independent of the earth.This is where the art is based.
Video, sound, AI, silkscreen and sculpture document the odd and quirky culture that develops on the moon.
From lunar lounge music, alien Jaguar, jello, traffic reports, cultural exchange, these are examples of what is seen in the art.
The idea of spectacle as a commonality that people can witness and have ownership to develop.
Exploring new possibilities is what is explored in the current work.
For Example: The video work is modeled on a television variety show format. But with a twist on it.
The primary goal of this art work is, by looking at a near future,
how to question and rethink the patterns of life and to focus on the spectacle of it in new manners.
